Build a Bed
Bringing Rest and Comfort. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” - Psalm 4:8
Why Build a Bed Matters
Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Yet across the United States, many youth and children lack even a basic bed of their own. Approximately 2–3% of children are without a bed in American communities, and many more sleep on couches, blankets, or the floor because families lack resources for proper bedding and furniture.
Healthy sleep is foundational for growth, learning, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. At Build a Bed, we believe a bed is more than furniture; it represents safety and rest. This is one of our largest outreach initiatives, planned quarterly throughout the year with one complete room makeover built into each cycle, with the hope of serving even more youth as support allows.
How Build a Bed Works
- We partner with local families, youth organizations, and community leaders to identify youth without safe, comfortable beds.
- Each project includes building and delivering beds with quality bedding, and, whenever possible, completing a room makeover.
- We aim to do up to four Build a Bed projects each year, but our goal is to expand and serve as many youth as possible.
